Why is CBD oil offered as a cosmetic product and not as a food product in Switzerland?

Swiss and European legislation prohibits any company from selling a concentrated CBD extract as a dietary supplement.

The "NOVEL FOOD" regulation, which concerns new foods marketed after 1997 such as CBD, requires authorization from EFSA before being placed on the market.

No company in Europe or Switzerland has obtained it.

CBD oils promoted as sublingual or swallowable are illegal.
This is why the only possible classification for selling CBD oils is "cosmetic product" for cutaneous application, or buccal for our ISO oils (THC-free).

On the other hand, 90% of our customers have been returning to us to consume our CBD oils by mouth for over 7 years, even though we can't advise it.

With this in mind, once or twice a year we carry out so-called "food grade" analyses of our CBD oils (pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, pollutants and bacteriological proliferation) so that, even if we can't recommend it, customers who decide to take them by mouth can do so in complete safety.
