What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound in the cannabis sativa L plant, also known as hemp. While delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main known and studied active ingredient, cannabidiol (CBD) has been the subject of an increasing number of clinical studies in recent years, demonstrating its efficacy on a wide range of pathological symptoms.

CBD is a cannabinoid naturally present in cannabis. Cannabis is becoming increasingly popular with more and more people. As a result, its consumption is continuously increasing. Unlike THC, CBD is legal because it is not addictive and does not deliver so-called " psychotropic " effects when it acts on synaptic receptors. Many studies show that CBD would generate a muscular relaxation and a feeling of relaxation.

Often mistakenly confused with the latter, CBD is not a psychotropic drug and has no euphoric effect. Some applications tend to show that CBD could even reduce the negative effects of THC. Not altering the state of consciousness of users, CBD is used more for its therapeutic virtues than recreational.

As explained, since its discovery, and although the research on CBD is less advanced than that on THC, this molecule does not cease convincing more and more people, its use having no harmful side effect. Researchers are constantly finding new benefits to this molecule. All elements that we will develop in many articles available on our website.

Many medicinal virtues are attributed to it

To start with the short term effects; CBD does not cause intoxication, euphoria and its consumption in high doses only leads to an increased need for sleep. On the contrary, CBD is rather used within the framework of a research of relaxing and anti-inflammatory effects. Indeed, this one would act on receptors of the brain which produce a muscular relaxation and a feeling of serenity. Moreover, cannabidiol would have antipsychotic effects. The exact cause of these effects is not yet specifically demonstrated. Nevertheless, cannabidiol seems to prevent the degradation of a chemical compound in the brain that affects pain, mood and mental function.

CBD has a great therapeutic potential on a lot of pathologies and pathological symptoms.
